Data charts and infographics are produced in collaboration with <a href="https://www.info-res.org/">the Center for Information Resilience</a>.&nbsp;<h2>Introduction</h2>Between February 1 and May 31, 2025, ground incursions and air attacks attributed to Israeli forces continued on civilian and military areas in Syria, killing civilians and military personnel, in addition to detaining and killing livestock, and bulldozing and burning forests.<h2>Methodology:</h2>In an update to the <a href="https://syrianarchive.org/en/investigations/since-the-gaza-war-hundreds-of-israeli-attacks-on-syria">database</a> of attacks attributed to Israeli forces in Syria between October 7, 2023 and January 31, 2025, the Syrian Archive preserved more than 1,900 videos, photos, posts, reports and articles, published on websites and social media platforms, detailing 260 incidents attributed to Israeli forces. These were recorded in a database for this investigation, showing locations of impact, first responses, first reports, damage, witness statements, official reports, names of victims, obituaries and funerals.. The Syrian Archive identified 205 locations by comparing landmarks visible in the visual content with satellite imagery from Google Earth.<h4>Note:</h4>The differences in the numbers of incidents, attacks, and impact sites is due to cases in which more than one location was attacked in the same incident, or attacks took place in multiple areas but synchronised as the same incident.<h2>Data:</h2>Between February 1 and May 31, 2025, the Syrian Archive counted 260 incidents believed to have been committed by Israeli forces in Syria. It cannot be accurately confirmed whether this data includes all attacks for which Israeli forces were likely responsible, but it comprises incidents that were confirmed by cross-referencing and comparing data, reports, photos, videos, and geolocations.<h3>Distribution of incidents by month:</h3>The data shows that March had the highest number of incidents in this time period with 107 incidents, followed by May with 55 incidents, February with 54 incidents, and April with 44 incidents.&nbsp;<img src="https://lh7-rt.googleusercontent.com/docsz/AD_4nXfe2ZZu4mygIbCcVKakEIBwIAQlnMwO83VFC-9jBzsK3W3ziifAgMgCbNlv2UbexdSL0osKaMZzM5mpSNg0edc0zvL2y5SjdB5A5nqK6-oZ6nizx8yEgAfKhFxceAh9C2MK9rRUxQ?key=lLy07EZpPYVNhupcyaRSag" width="624" height="381"><h3>Distribution of attacks by governorate:</h3>The data shows 260 incidents distributed across 9 governorates, with Quneitra leading the number of attacks with 165, followed by Daraa with 39 attacks, Damascus countryside with 23 attacks, Homs with 11 attacks, Damascus and Tartous with 5 attacks each, Latakia and Sweida with 4 attacks each, Hama 3 attacks, Latakia and the administrative area between Daraa and Quneitra with 1 attack each.<img src="https://lh7-rt.googleusercontent.com/docsz/AD_4nXdWDbYw4Fw8lTKxILRGy5_cjck_QE2D1t7jmYIXfINHDLTwZ6QDfUjPGOfUNoLmIHb2FGye1nCcfiDU_LppnPwJp3jZ8jqsqUOi5VcDEkYRoy4dxdO6p4mHTbNnEO67-KlZgHFieg?key=lLy07EZpPYVNhupcyaRSag" width="624" height="621"><h3>Distribution of attacks according to the type of impact site:</h3>The data show 244 civilian and military sites in 260 incidents (some sites were affected by more than one incident) that were allegedly attacked by Israeli forces. Of these, the Syrian Archive was able to accurately locate 205 sites by cross-referencing reports and visual content and comparing them with satellite imagery. Incidents involving kidnapping and arrests (17), direct shootings (7) and detention of a herd of animals (one incident), for which the exact locations could not be determined, were excluded.Most of the incidents documented by the Syrian Archive were classified as ground incursions (154 incidents). Allegations of ground incursions accounted for the highest percentage of incident types, followed by attacks by combat aircraft, allegedly from the Israeli Air Force.<img src="https://lh7-rt.googleusercontent.com/docsz/AD_4nXcemIC1NAymwcwSIP3WkM_kY7sRvXxGV2ADDWCoIeJ-oVtmTajtLDqMVZ3u3b2MsBLVbcdnxJMeLDK5eGxJlKf3dhk_p4y1bhp95j_CQBym4HnvLl1QFY_C-T8SHzhYzyjZOGcM?key=lLy07EZpPYVNhupcyaRSag" width="624" height="449">Chart showing the type of incidents for which Israeli forces were allegedly responsible, between February 1, 2025 and March 31, 2025 - Source: Syrian Archive data<h2>Analysis and conclusions:</h2>Analyzing the data documented by the Syrian Archive between February 1 and May 31, 2025, points to a set of conclusions and implications, the most important of which are:<ul><li>The frequency of Israeli ground incursions has increased. Areas in Quneitra and Daraa governorates witnessed 154 cases of ground incursions, with the participation of military vehicles (tanks and other armoured vehicles), positioning inside or withdrawing from them, destroying Syrian military barracks and bulldozing the rubble, as well as arresting civilians.</li><li>The shelling of Syrian military sites attributed to Israeli forces continued, especially in the Damascus countryside and Daraa, as well as border crossings in Homs, four military airports in Homs (Tadmur - T4), Sweida (Khalkhala Airport), Hama military airport, and the ports of Tartus and Latakia.</li><li>The data documented the killing of 24 civilians in attacks attributed to Israeli forces, and showed clashes and protests against Israeli forces’ incursions into Syrian territory.</li></ul>The updated database of alleged Israeli attacks on Syria can be viewed by filtering the database in our archive at the following&nbsp;<a href="https://syrianarchive.org/en/data-archive">link</a>.&nbsp;
